Entrepreneurs' opinion about bribery in their business area 2022-2023, by favor

On average, between 2022 and 2023, 38.5 percent of Italian entrepreneurs believed that they had to pay always or often some extra money to obtain specific services in their usual business. Specifically, 25 percent of them, around 1.9 million businesspeople, stated that it is very common to bribe a public officer to obtain tenders with the state administration. In particular, 75 percent of entrepreneurs active in the manufacturing sector affirmed that they were likely to pay regularly bribes to obtain facilitation in one of the mentioned business activities.
